What is the difference between E27, E14, B22, and B15 light fittings in South Africa?

A quick overview of various types of light fitting in South Africa, "screw-in" versus Bayonet.

Every wondered what light fittings are called?

As you can see, a normal sized screw in bulb is called an E27 fitting. The "E" stands for Edison. The smaller version is called a Small Edison Screw and it's also known as an E14.

Normal sized Bayonets are called B22s. Presumably the "B" stands for Bayonet. The smaller version of the Bayonet is called a B15.
